Project Description
The SIAME laboratory has been working for some time now on microalgae cultivation processes and the pretreatment of algal biomass to extract compounds of interest. As part of this MIACE-PEF project involving the EE and PHT teams, microalgae are cultivated in innovative tubular photobioreactors with the aim of intensifying mass and energy transfers to improve biomass production yields and CO2 sequestration. Experimental trials are currently being conducted within this framework. Once cultivated, the microalgae can be utilized according to the "cascade biorefinery" principle to valorize all extracted compounds. With this in mind, a pilot demonstrator for a continuous pretreatment process of microalgal biomass products using pulsed electric fields will be built in partnership with ASMA, a company of the ARTZAINAK Group (64).
This project is funded by ADEME.
