Architecture and urban physics - "Chair" UPPA-Nobatek/INEF4

In the field of sustainable construction, research actors such as the UPPA and its university laboratories, the Nobatek Technology Centre, which coordinates INEF4, as well as vocational and technological training structures and a business incubator, which generates activities in the field, have joined forces around a common dynamic at the ArkiNova science park in Anglet.

The creation of the joint laboratory entitled "Sustainable Construction: Architecture and Urban Physics" was born of the common desire of UPPA and Nobatek/INEF4 to strengthen their scientific cooperation to contribute to the development of research axes in the field of sustainable construction.

This Laboratory supports the UPPA's research strategy, the recent creation of the INEF4 Institute, more particularly the "Achieve... Architecture & constructive solutions" programme, and the joint determination of the territorial actors, the New Aquitaine Region (ALPC) and the Côte Basque-Adour Urban Area (Agglomeration), to develop a new scientific and technological research axis, in a dual approach combining architecture and engineering for the energy design of buildings with the BEPOS objective for new and renovation.

The Joint Laboratory is based on the establishment of a UPPA-Nobatek/INEF4 "Chair" on the theme "Architecture and urban physics". This Chair has a "research" component that will be fed by the research themes of the Joint Laboratory. It also presents a "Training" component with initial and/or continuous training projects that will be managed by the Institut Supérieur Aquitain-Bâtiment Travaux Publics (ISA-BTP), UPPA Engineering School on the Anglet site. The specific terms and conditions of this training component may be the subject of a separate contract at a later date.
