Project: partially saturated soils
The aim of this project is to develop mathematical models describing the behavior of partially saturated materials, with a particular emphasis on the relationship between deformation and water retention. These models are validated based on several laboratory techniques such as scanning electron microscopy, mercury porosimetry, nitrogen adsorption, X-ray tomography and image analysis.
